Mother's Day

Every Mother's Day Eva's school has a mother child breakfast and the children are so proud to share their little tables with their mom's for breakfast.  Eva is so sweet and so fun to be with.  Here she is with her friend Sofia.

Eva sang two songs for the mother's with her super cute smile and leg pulsing to the beat.

Eva made a beautiful pink frame with flowers pressed inside on homemade paper.  Luke made a beautiful card at school as well.
This was the first mother's day where I got to choose what I wanted to do with the kids so we went mountain biking at Kettle Moraine John Muir trails.  Luke and I biked the shortest loop together and he did great going over the hills and rocks.  It reminded me of when I was mountain biking with him in Colorado while he was still inside me.  I loved biking by myself through the beautiful prairie and looking at all the flowering trees and gliding through the pines.  It was fun riding the rocky and twisty single track with the birds chirping and spring in the air.

We traveled simply with all five of us in the sedan with two bikes in the trunk and two bikes on the bike rack.  The kids had fun in the back seat together.

Run 3 miles - Bike 18 miles - Run 3 miles
The Sunday after Mother's Day I had wanted to do the Delafield Duathalon.  It was so much fun and it was just beautiful weather.  We ran along the bark river and over the golf course and then biked to Stone Bank and back.  It was exhilarating riding in the beautiful country side.  Next year I will train and it should be even more fun when I am not so tired by the end.

We also got to see all the new babies in Dave's family... Julie and Drew, Hudson and I, Jackie and Judah, Katie and Camryn.

212 Miles Per Hour

Luke told Dave that he wanted to make a fast car for the Awana Grand Prix.  He was so excited to make it with Daddy.  Luke even asked if the Grand Prix would be aired on television.  Dave used the best of his engineering skills and created a green car with lightning just like Luke asked for.  With one hour of racing and all 50 cars doing at least 4 heats, Luke's car set the track record of 212 miles per hour.  Luke and his friend Casey made it to the finals and the cars had to run 8 more heats.  After some very specific calculations Luke's car was the fastest!  Whatever Dave sets his mind to he does the best.  Thanks Dave for building a great car.

Lake Geneva

Our kids love traditions.  We have gone to Lake Geneva twice before and they really wanted to go back.  We loved the beach, the trolley, the water park, and the little pool.

Luke and Eva were really excited to sleep in the "couch-bed" and Hudson had his private sleeping closet.

The lazy river was a family favorite.

Luke was the youngest golfer at Grand Geneva.  We used the putting green, chipping green, and driving range.

Eva slept in the stroller as we took one last trip to the pool with the boys.
