Lake Superior family trip

We started out our 2017 road trip driving north to Lake Superior. We enjoyed Pictured Rock's National Lakeshore. We were able to see many waterfalls as well as a variety of beaches. The kids loved the pink sand beach the best. We also liked Miner's beach that almost felt a little tropical. Everyone did great on the road trip and loved the hotel pool and breakfast.

 This is 12 mile beach with perfectly smooth rocks. We brought home about 20 rocks for each child as they could not choose their favorite.

 We drove to Mackinac Island during the time of the eclipse. We stopped by a rest stop and enjoyed looking at the sun through a filter and zoom lens.

Firefly

Every year the kids can explore a little more at Firefly. The kids loved the two hammocks. They rode their bikes everywhere they could. The older boys did an 8 mile and a 12 mile bike ride. Hudson did great on the "bumps." We all enjoyed getting ice cream. Everyone slept well. It was another great year at Firefly.

 

Devil's Lake

Camping with our life group this year was easier than ever. The youngest child was 4 years old and the oldest was 16. It was much easier than when we had babies and toddlers. The kids loved hiking, swimming, and playing at the site.
